High Tech Kids is a Minnesota non-profit and affiliate partner of FIRST that is in need of over 40 volunteers for each of the 40 robotic tournaments held between November through February. Every year, over 900 volunteers reach children at an age when they make decisions (grades 3 – 9) that will impact their ability to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and careers, and enable these future citizens to be technologically literate.

Volunteer Training sessions:

Thursday, Oct. 18, 6:00PM-8:30PM – Target Corporate, 1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis

Monday, Oct. 22, 6:00PM-8:30PM – Thomson Reuters, 610 Opperman Drive, Eagan

Saturday, Oct. 27, 9:30AM-12:00PM – University of Minnesota, Bruininks Hall 222 Pleasant Street NE

Tuesday, Oct. 30, 6:00PM-8:30PM – Boston Scientific, Door #3 3 Scimed Place, Maple Grove 

Please plan on attending one of these sessions. Lead by veteran judges, referees, and volunteers, you will learn everything you need to know and there will be plenty of time for questions. Use the link to RSVP for one of these trainings. Also, please bring a photo I.D. with you. Some venues for training require one to get into the building.

New volunteers will require a background check (at no cost to you) through the FIRST website, which you will be instructed on after training.
