August 7 at St. Cloud State University
Through this program, middle and high school youth are encouraged to use their skills in critical thinking, creativity, innovation, problem solving and teamwork in a non-traditional learning event. Youth are tasked with creating a “Rube Goldberg”-like machine that demonstrates how engineering can be used to achieve goals. Judges are needed to help evaluate not only the machine, but how well youth applied their critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and problem solving skills to accomplish the task as a team.
Judging is done in teams of three that include an engineering professional, youth development staff member, and a STEM volunteer or college engineering student.
We also connect participants to STEM industries and organizations, higher education, and STEM learning activities throughout the day.
