Bio
I am a PhD Chemist from the Twin Cities and have worked in the specialty chemical industry for 29 years. My current role is Global Technical Manager at H.B. Fuller where I direct development and commercialization of hot melt adhesives for the personal hygiene market. I have also developed reactive adhesives for the automotive and structural assembly markets. Before coming to H.B. Fuller, I developed engineering thermoplastics and automotive coatings at Bayer USA. I have been very active in STEM education activities throughout my career. Namely, I developed and implemented a hands-on adhesive characterization lab that we have led for the past 13 years at White Bear High School (9th grade physical science class). In addition to the glue lab, I have also presented to 11th and 12th graders on what to expect for STEM college courses, grad school and careers. I also worked with the Bakken Museum to develop a hands-on adhesive experiment for elementary students.
