Engineers make things faster, stronger, easier, and more fun – but only 13% of the engineering workforce is made up of women. The Works Museum is on a mission to change that! Come discover the amazing things that engineers can do at our annual Girl Time event. Girl Time features kid-friendly, hands-on activities and demos led by female scientists, engineers, and students from all around the Twin Cities. Spend the day exploring, learn how to get involved in STEM activities, and dream up ideas for building a better world.
At Girl Time, you can experience the work of women engineers first-hand. You’ll make your own take-home projects, try dozens of STEM activities, and see engineering demos up close. Meet female role models and hear their STEM stories; how they got started, what they love about their work, and what inspires them. Ask questions, have fun, and begin your own STEM story at Girl Time!
This event is just the beginning – come experience Girl Time and learn about many ways we engage girls in STEM all year long. Drop in for an hour or stay all day to explore together. Perfect for girls ages 5-14 and their families – boys also welcome.
