We are seeking judges and volunteers for the 2018 Minnesota State Science& Engineering Fair. The Minnesota State Science & Engineering Fair opensdoors for our students to new scientific thinking, educational pathways, connections and opportunities. We need over 350 judges and volunteers to make the Minnesota State Science & Engineering Fair a success.
The program competition showcases Minnesota’s best and brightest students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Many of our young scientists spend hundreds of hours researching their projects and papers to prepare for this event. The judging shift is on Monday, April 9, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Volunteer shifts are available through-out the 3-day Science Fair.
Who can volunteer as a judge?
Judges typically represent university faculty and researchers, industrial engineers and scientists, representatives of private and federal research centers, and medical practitioners or researchers.
To judge high school projects, judges must have a minimum of 6+ years of experience or a doctoral degree (this includes graduate students in their final year of their program). To judge middle school projects, judges must have 2+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree (this includes upper division undergraduate students).
