Did you know that you can be a supporter of computer science education simply by sharing your space!

I have facilitated over 50 workshops training over 1,000 educators in the Midwest and am looking for future host locations to help me expand computer science education.

CS Fundamentals workshops are free to K-5 educators

What is expected from a host location

  • •  access to a room with a projector, sound system, flexible seating, power sources for attendee devices, and restrooms nearby
  • •  contact person for logistics
  • •  storage for materials that will arrive up to one week ahead of time
  • •  an employee for a welcome and explanation of the host site
  • •  optional – if at a business, employees can share their role and connection to computer science

What attendees will get from the workshop

  • • in-person instruction from an experienced computer science facilitator
  • • an intro to computer science and pedagogy
  • • an overview of the online curriculum and teacher dashboard
  • • a printed curriculum guide containing course lesson plans
  • • strategies for teaching “unplugged” classroom activities
  • • classroom supplies for the unplugged activities
  • • a certificate of completion
  • • a bag of Code.org swag

What a host location can expect in return

  • • conversations with educators
  • • advertised workshop across school districts and social media
  • • a sense of pride knowing that you are helping CS education grow
