The Incident - Computer Technology and Fun! The Incident
A fall fund raiser in central Minnesota for the Minnesota Eye Bank.
Event Background:
A team of industrial designers, computer game developers, computer modelers, architects, musicians, software architects and actors have been working together to create a world where science fictions has come to life.
They have realized this vision, in part, by using the latest tools and platforms from Microsoft in ways not seen by most people. These technologies used include Surface, PhotoSynth, XNA, Microsoft Tag, Silverlight, World Wide Telescope and Windows 7.
The technologies help bring the visitor into the story world where multi-touch, voice recognition; machine vision and augmented reality are at the heart of people’s interaction with computers.
One of the goals of this production is to introduce kids to what’s possible with technology. In support of this goal, we will be offering personalized tours at the event as well as providing on-school-grounds discussions and demonstrations of the technologies used to make the event possible. We can fine tune the delivery of this content to address:
• General Technology Awareness
• Careers in Technology
• Software Design and User Experience
• Technical Drill downs on specific technologies
The on-school-grounds presentations will be available week days during the two weekend run of the event (October 18th – 29th). We also open to group visits during the run of the event. If you’re interested in taking a group through the event, please contact us and we can arrange a behind the scenes presentation as part of your visit.
